Friday customers serviced on Saturday
Applying the city's rule to Friday, Dec. 25: no collection that day and collections shift one day later, so Friday customers are serviced Saturday, Dec. 26. The page lists no 2026 dates.
Per the city's page, Christmas and New Year's Day are the only holidays when collection will not occur. If either falls on a weekday, collections shift one day later, and Friday customers are serviced on Saturday.
The page does not break out garbage, recycling and compost. The city's December 2025 tips article is for 2025 and is not a 2026 notice. Service is provided by licensed haulers, so confirm with the hauler if timing matters.
Phone: 503-823-7202 (Garbage and Recycling, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.); 311 or 503-823-4000. Find your own collection day: city lookup.
