No collection on Christmas Day; recycling is not made up
Last year's notice said refuse, bulky items, recyclables and green waste were not collected on Christmas Day. Gray carts stay curbside until serviced. Recycling days that fall on the holiday are not made up. Residents hold blue and green cart items until the next pickup. Christmas Day 2026 is a Friday. No 2026 notice is posted yet.
The city's most recent holiday notice (December 2025) says Christmas Day and New Year's Day are the only two holidays observed by refuse employees all year. The city has not posted a 2026-2027 holiday notice.
The notice covers refuse (gray cart), mixed recyclables (blue cart), green waste (green cart), twice-a-week manual refuse and bulky items by appointment.
