Republic delays service one day on or after Thanksgiving
Republic Services observes Thanksgiving Day. If your service day falls on or after the holiday, it is delayed one day. Republic's yard trimmings note for 2026 says the final collection week runs through Nov. 28 because of the Thanksgiving holiday and a one-day delay. Households that opted out of the city contract use other haulers with their own rules.
The city posts no holiday rule. Republic Services' Fort Collins page lists the holidays it observes. Service on or after a listed holiday is delayed one day.
Private haulers collect trash, recycling and yard trimmings. For single-family homes and small multifamily buildings (seven or fewer units), the city contracts with Republic Services. Residents can opt out and choose their own hauler.
Phone: 970-416-2012. Find your own collection day: city lookup.
